Recipe by Salcombe Gin
Why not try a new twist on a traditional cocktail with Salcombe Gin – the Marmajito!
Pop down to Salcombe whilst you’re in the area and visit their Distillery and Tasting bar at The Boathouse on Island Street, Salcombe – open 7 days a week.
Ingredients
- 50ml Salcombe Gin ‘Start Point’
- 2 Barspoons blood orange marmalade or other good citrus marmalade
- 10ml lemon juice
- 10 mint leaves
- Elderflower Tonic
Method
Place the gin, marmalade, lemon juice and clapped mint into the boston shaker glass, fill to the top with ice, and shake.
Make sure the boston shaker tin is on at an angle as its easier to release.
Shake for 10 seconds or until you feel enough dilution has taken place.
Fill the high ball tumbler with ice, add a thin wheel of grapefruit against the inside of the glass.
Using a hawthorne strainer (small holes, with springs) and a fine sieve strainer, pour the mix into the into the highball. Tap the fine strainer to make sure all the mix is passed through.
Finish to the top with elderflower tonic and a mint spring.
