Which are the best days to come to Dartmouth?
Please check the Events section for details of each day but it’s worth highlighting that Thursday is our Children’s Day. The main Festival days to visit are Friday (South Embankment & Royal Avenue Gardens only), Saturday and Sunday where there’ll be a wide array of market stalls, celebrity Chef Demonstrations and other activities going on. If you’d like to go to any of the planned evening events (some earlier in the week) then you may need to book in advance. To book your place and pay for your ticket head to our our Events section on this website.
Can we bring children?
Thursday, Children’s Day, is specifically for young uns. The day is limited to invited local primary schools.
Should we book accommodation now?
Yes – it’s the start of Half Term so it’ll be chock-a-block in Dartmouth over the Festival weekend. Visit www.discoverdartmouth.com or www.coastandcountry.co.uk for a fuller list of available accommodation.
What’s the parking like?
Pretty good – go to Where to Park for full information (as provided by Dartmouth Visitor Centre).
How can I find out who is exhibiting and where the stalls are that I'd like to visit?
We’ve listed everyone by area in alphabetical order on the Exhibitors page. As you can imagine, things do change on a daily basis but we’ll do our best to update the site regularly.
Should I book a restaurant now?
Yes, we strongly recommend it as most Dartmouth restaurants will be booked up well in advance of the food festival, particularly The Seahorse, Browns Hotel, The Dart Marina River Restaurant, The Royal Castle Hotel and Bayards Cove Inn. Remember that it’s also the start of the Half Term break so another reason to ensure you’ve booked.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, to most places! Dogs can go into the exhibitor tents and demo tent, but not the workshops or venues such as the Flavel or Guildhall
Are there cashpoints?
Since all of our banks have closed recently we would advise you to come well stocked up with cash ready to spend with our lovely exhibitors and local businesses! Many exhibitors will of course have card machines and the festival will also have one at our Merchandise stall in the Royal Avenue Gardens.
Cash points are available in the lower town are at the Spar shop (Victoria Road) CO-OP (Fairfax Place) and Yorkshire Building Society (South Embankment). Outside the town centre machines are situated at Sainsburys (Nelson Road), Holliss Garage (Townstal Road) and Kingswear Post Office (Fore Street).
