EVENTS OVER THE FESTIVAL WEEKEND
What makes the Dartmouth Food Festival so special is the wide range of events, parties and tastings we offer over the three days and nights of the Festival itself. We change the offer each year, but we always aim to have a programme which appeals to experienced and knowledgeable ‘foodies’, visitors from outside our area, and to those who want to hone their culinary basics. We ensure that some events are free of charge.
There are talks, discussions, practical demonstrations and masterclasses from a wide range of professional chefs, experts and local producers. We also organise hands-on food preparation workshops on subjects as diverse as pasta and pie-making, gin and wine tasting events with our sponsors (Salcombe Gin and Michael Sutton Cellars), and a specific competition for home cooks. With these events, we are delighted to have the involvement of many well-known ‘national’ names such as Mitch Tonks of The Seahorse Restaurant and Rockfish and wine-writers & experts, Susy Atkins and Will Lyons.
In addition to those organised directly by the Festival team, many of our restaurant partners aim to offer something very special for their diners on each day of the Festival weekend.
For most events, you will need to book in advance. Many sell out early, so do please keep up-to-date by subscribing to our newsletter – look out for links on social media. Tickets are available from this website from early September in each year.

” I should like to congratulate you and everyone involved in the Dartmouth Food Festival, what a great way to showcase our excellent produce. Not only does it bring business into the town but it lifts the entire profile of the South Hams. Occasions like this draw people from far and wide who will hopefully visit us again”
