Nolly Kawamura

Nolly Kawamura has loved to cook since as early as she can remember. She honed her skills while helping to run the household that maintains the pottery kilns of the legendary Japanese artist and epicure, Kitaoji Rosanjin.

She has written columns and articles for Japanese magazines and publications for over 25 years.

The inspiration for her project, The Miso Tree, came from a trip to the South Hams, where she encountered the fabulous local produce, and bubbling enthusiasm of the people making, selling and cooking it. From her 150 year old farmhouse in central Japan - and with regular trips to the UK - Nolly takes the best of local UK produce and transforms it with traditional Japanese flavours and techniques.
