Your Questions

Here are answers to some of the questions we've been frequently asked.

Which are the best days to come to Dartmouth?

Please check the  Events  section for details of each day but it's worth highlighting that Thursday is our Children’s Day. The main Festival days to visit are Friday (South Embankment & Royal Avenue Gardens only), Saturday and Sunday where there'll be a wide array of market stalls, celebrity Chef Demonstrations and other activities going on. If you'd like to go to any of the planned evening events (some earlier in the week) then you may need to book in advance. To book your place and pay for your ticket head to our our  Events  section on this website.

Can we bring children?

Yes, yes, yes – we love them!  Thursday, Children's Day, is specifically for young uns. Most of the day is for our local primary school children but if you are a visitor with children then you are welcome to attend, space permitting. Later on in the afternoon there will be a Children's Tea Party which is open to all. We are also holding a Wake Up and Cook event for children in the Demo Kitchen on Saturday morning and check our Workshop schedule as many of these are for children too.

Should we book accommodation now?

Yes – it's the start of Half Term so it'll be chock-a-block in Dartmouth over the Festival weekend. Here are some of our favourite  places to stay . Visit  www.discoverdartmouth.com  or  www.coastandcountry.co.uk  for a fuller list of available accommodation.

What’s the parking like?

Pretty good – go to  Where to Park  for full information (as provided by Dartmouth Tourist Information Centre).

How can I find out who is exhibiting and where the stalls are that I'd like to visit?

We've listed everyone by area in alphabetical order on the  Exhibitors  page. As you can imagine, things do change on a daily basis but we'll do our best to update the site regularly.

Should I book a restaurant now?

Yes, we strongly recommend it as most Dartmouth restaurants will be booked up well in advance of the food festival, particularly  The Seahorse Browns Hotel The Dart Marina River Restaurant , The  Royal Castle Hotel  and  Bayards Cove Inn . Remember that it's also the start of the Half Term break so another reason to ensure you've booked.

Will I be able to buy event tickets when I get to Dartmouth?

Remember most events are free, thanks to our  Sponsors , but yes - but we strongly recommend that for the ticketed events you buy well in advance via our  Events section on our website as they usually fly out of the door on release.
